Music channels

With music channels there seems to be a large part of the sector dominated by MTV an american music channel, it consits of multiple sub channels which aim specifically on a certain genre eg MTV HITS MTV ROCKS MTV CLASSIC, whereas other music channels dont seem to have the ability to branch out past once channel, this can be seen with ones like VIVA  which is pop , capital tv a televised version of the radio show ( pop / indie depending on the DJ). 4 music seems to be a contender however i would say it is only realy at its peak during the festivals by its sister channel E4. Most large radio shows also televise their radio shows only using a blank image however, some do have video but rarely.

There also seems to be a small group of music channels which work on requests.

Videos i admire

This isn't a official video however i find it very clever, the cuts are smooth, EXTREMELY sharp.
I find this music video very good, it is amazing at its progression not only in the songs storyline but also the pace this is an official music video.
This is one of the most iconic music videos EVER. I love it how there is a real story behind it and the song is almost embedded into this short film, nearly 5 minutes of the 13minute video is acting. This shows just how much effort was put into this.
Again another video with a story behind it, this is also very clever in the way it relates is genre with its audience added a comical side also the aspects from the way in which this genre is preserved and presented at venues with these colored lights, smoke and loud music.

Evolution of music video

The older song, in this case Thriller by MJ was released in 1983, this song and many others of his seem to be orientated around a  dance or performance, whereas a song closer to now seems to be more orientated on performance that danceing.
This is more of a story video rather than a dancing video, this seems to continue and emphersize to todays music.
